SRINAGAR, APRIL 13 – The Directorate of Physical Education and Sports (DPES), Kashmir University (KU), Friday celebrated the grant of a Patent Certificate to Director DPES, Dr Mandeep Singh by The Patent Office, Government of India.

KU Vice Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan; KU Registrar, Prof Naseer Iqbal and Director Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA), KU, Prof Manzoor Ahmad Shah attended the ceremony while underscoring Dr Mandeep Singh’s remarkable achievements and contributions to academia and innovation, an official spokesperson said in a statement issued here.

“Dr Mandeep Singh’s groundbreaking work has resulted in the awarding of six patents, with an additional 13 patents filed, showcasing his commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation,” the spokesperson said.

Dr Mandeep Singh, has been honoured with several prestigious awards, including the ‘Award of Excellency’ by DGPC Jammu on January 5th, 2024, the ‘Young Scientist Award-2018’ by AIRDO, India, and the ‘Academic Excellence Award 2021’ by IJEMS International Publication, among others, the statement read.

The university community and the officials of the Directorate expressed their delight at Dr Mandeep Singh’s achieving another feat.

“It brings immense pride and honour to the entire institution as Dr Singh’s dedication to innovation and excellence continues to inspire and uplift the academic and research community, setting new benchmarks for achievement and progress,” the spokesperson added.

Dr Mandeep Singh expressed his gratitude to KU Vice Chancellor, Prof Nilofer Khan and KU Registrar, Prof Naseer Iqbal for entrusting him with the new responsibility as the Director, DPES.

He also thanked deans of different schools, heads of various departments and officers of the administration present on the occasion, the statement added.
