SKIMS celebrates its maiden post-doctoral research presentation programme

SRINAGAR, NOV 08 – Sher-i- Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences celebrated its First Post-Doctoral Research Presentation Programme today on 8th November 2023 organised by the Department of Anesthesiology SKIMS. The event marked the presentations of various research papers of DM/ MCh / DrNB and PhD students across 15 major super-specialities in Cardiology, Cardio-Vascular-Thoracic Surgery , Clinical Hematology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Immunology, Medical Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroanesthesia and Neurocritical care, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology and Urology.
A total of 34 research papers were presented during the one day scientific proceedings.

Prof. Khursheed Iqbal Former Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS and HOD Cardiology was the chief guest for the event. He lauded the students for their efforts and commitment towards producing high quality research papers and hoped that SKIMS will continue upholding such high traditions.
Director SKIMS & Ex-officio Secretary to Govt. Prof. Parvaix A. Koul complimented the young researchers and said that such research programmes where postdoctoral students showcase their work is of utmost significance and added that SKIMS will continue its excellent work in the field of research and patient care.
Dean Medical Faculty SKIMS Prof. Bashir A. Laway expressed his delight and said SKIMS will continue to organize such events in future. Medical Superintendent Prof. Farooq A Jan reiterated that SKIMS will pursue to give its best in patient care and research as it has been serving the region over the last decades.
The Organising Chairperson Dr. Zulfiqar Ali expressed his best wishes to the participants and hoped that SKIMS will continue to organise these events in future also. The event was culminated with the prize distribution to best paper presentations.
