Badalta Khilta JK: 4524 cases sanctioned under PMAY-G in Bandipora over past 04 years

BANDIPORA, OCTOBER 30 – By enhancing the housing circumstances of numerous rural families and promoting the overall development of rural areas, PMAY-G has acted as a catalyst for rural development in Bandipora.

The Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) Bandipora, M Ashraf Hakak informed that in Bandipora 4524 Cases have been sanctioned over the past 04 years which has made a significant difference in the lives of eligible beneficiaries.

He said contributing to the overall development and progress of rural communities in Bandipora under PMAY-G, 4158 beneficiaries received first installment amounting to Rs.21 crore while as 1868 beneficiaries received 2nd installment amounting to Rs. 10 crore, besides 972 families received 3rd installment to the tune of Rs. 04 crore.

Hakak said extensive awareness campaigns were conducted to inform eligible beneficiaries about the scheme and the application process, and said that efforts are on to complete all the cases till December this year.

He informed that a total of 1.3lac in three installments has been provided for construction of a house to the beneficiary besides an additional 20 thousands are provided from MGNREGA as labour charges.

Several touching success stories that demonstrated how PMAY-G improved the lives of rural households surfaced in Bandipora.

Sharing details Ab. Majeed Khan, a local beneficiary of PMAY-G said that he was homeless for 15 years but Government came to his rescue and now he owns a house constructed with the help of PMAY-G. Thanks to Government for providing home to homeless, he added

PMAY-G is a prime example of how a well-run government initiative can significantly improve the lives of rural residents by promoting development, raising standards of living, and guaranteeing a more promising future.

Besides offering rural households respectable housing, PMAY-G provided a sense of identity and belonging on both social and economic level to the eligible beneficiaries.
