DC Jammu inspects arrangements for Independence Day at M.A Stadium

JAMMU, AUGUST 01 – Deputy Commissioner, Avny Lavansa today conducted on the spot inspection of the arrangements for Independence Day 2023 celebration at M.A Stadium.

The DC inquired about the security arrangements, traffic regulation, seating arrangements, Full Dress Rehearsal, decoration, PAS, Power and water Supply, transport arrangements, sanitation, Medicare facilities, invitation cards, Barricading at the venue of the function and other vital issues.

The officers concerned gave details of security and police deployment besides space identified for the parking of vehicles. She directed them to make fool-proof arrangements in advance for the National event.

The Joint Director Information was asked to make the arrangements for Public Address System, Media coordination for proper coverage, Shehnai Vadan besides recommendation of commentators for the event.

The DC instructed the Jammu Municipal Corporation and PHE to make adequate provision of drinking water at the venue on the day of I-Day celebrations.

Taking stock of other amenities, the JPDCL and PHE departments were directed to make proper management for electricity and water including supply through water tankers at the venue. The CMO was asked to deploy a team of doctors and paramedics with adequate medical facilities and ambulances at the venue.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Officers to ensure that all related arrangements were made in advance and work in close coordination for the smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner JMC Rahul Yadav; ADC L&O Harvinder Singh; Joint Director Information, Atul Gupta; ADC(ADM), Sandeep Seointra; Deputy Director Information, Dr. Vikas Sharma along with the officers from Police, Security, Jal Shakti, Health, Sports and Youth Affairs and other concerned departments were present on the occasion.
