Oversees arrangements for upcoming Maha Shivratri Festival

BARAMULLA, FEB 16 – The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today visitED Veerwan Migrant Colony Baramulla to review arrangements being made for the forthcoming festival of Maha Shivratri.

It is worth here to mention that this festival of great religious and cultural significance is scheduled to be celebrated on February 18 by the faith followers especially by the Kashmiri Pandit community with great zeal and enthusiasm.

While taking review on the spot, the DC directed concerned Departments to ensure all basic arrangements are put in place for the Community.

The DC directed the officers to ensure availability of Fish, Vegetables especially Lotus Stems (Nadroo), Spinach, Walnut, Cheese and other essential commodities including LPG Cylinders, K-oil, rice, sugar, flour, uninterrupted water and electric power supply in all the areas where the Pandit community resides.

She directed the Fisheries Department to deploy trout fish carrying mobile vans on festival days in various areas of the district for better convenience of Pandit community.

Moreover,  the DC exhorted upon the comcerned officers to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and adequate drinking water facility at all venues so that the visitors do not face any problem during their visit to pay obeisance at the said temples.
