AJKPC to hold block wise programs across J&K to highlight importance of PRIs

JAMMU, FEB 15 –  All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference(AJKPC), a registered organization working for strengthening the Panchayati Raj Institutions(PRIs) in J & K has decided to hold block wise programs across Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to underline the importance of PRIs in strengthening democracy and the role played by AJKPC in this regard.

Today, AJKPC organized a meeting headed by its President Anil Sharma and attended by senior functionaries of the organization wherein all the participants unanimously decided and resolved to hold block wise programs across Jammu and Kashmir to showcase the importance of PRIs in J & K and the role played by AJKPC in strengthening the rural local self-government.

The press statement issued by the AJKPC states that in the block wise programs, the AJKPC functionaries and members will hold interaction with locals and discuss the success stories of the Panchayati Raj Institutions and make them aware about the difference in power sharing of  Panchayats in J & K and other states of India. Besides highlighting locals Issues of the respective Panchayats and blocks, AJKPC will also share its over a decade long journey and its success stories.  In these block wise programs right from Kathua to Kupwara, all the 20 districts of J & K will be covered within 2 to 3 months period starting from either last week of February or first week of March 2023, the statement further reads.

All the main subjects including rising unemployment, Drugs menace amongst youth, pending issue of Maali-Chowkidaars, increase in wages of MGNREGA labours, release of Financial Commissions installments, jobs for the martyr PRI members and justice with all daily wagers would also be raised in these block level programs by the AJKPC leadership.

All these programs will be conducted under the direct supervision of AJKPC President Anil Sharma and in coordination with local leaders of the organization. Senior Citizens, , Intellectuals, Educationists, Students, Scholars and women rights activists have also been invited to attend these programs and give their valuable suggestion to strengthen the PRIs in Jammu and Kashmir which is ultimate goal of PRIs. The prominent leaders who attended the meeting  and shared their views include :-

BDC Chairpersons  Parveena Akhtar ,  A. K. Pandita , Abhay Khajuria , AJKPC Vice- President Jatinder Singh , S. Kashmira Singh , Mohd. Yousuf Shan , Iqbal Katoch , Irshad Paarey , Tanveer Katoch , Amjad Katana.
