The advent of the harsh winter season leads compels them to lead a difficult life. Even the introduction of the most advanced technologies couldn’t help manage the supply of power in Kashmir. Though people are surprised by the installation of smart meters and inflated electricity bills, people fail to comprehend what to encompass first. This has irked them the most. They have come to the streets with the demand of cutting back the cost of electricity bills. The problem of shortage of power or irregularity in the schedule makes it even worse. The incident where doctors at Primary Health Care Center had to treat a patient under torches and candles is a witness to the horrendous tale of power in the region. These issues must be identified by the administration. The Authority needs to intervene and provide the consumers with the best facilities. The distribution of power must be even throughout the region. Meanwhile, people can also make judicious use of the power supplied to them. By making prudent use of available power, each household may have an equal opportunity to receive power. The irrational usage can only bring misery not only to the department but to the people themselves. Every consumer deserves to derive the foremost facilities from the department. People pay for their convenience, not to face troubles. Therefore, it is their right to gain all the benefits from the department to make their lives easier. The cost of bills is supposed to be reduced and the schedule to be revised as per the satisfaction of the consumers.
