DC Udhampur reviews winter preparedness

UDHAMPUR, DEC 27 – Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna today convened a meeting of line departments here in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex to review the action plan with regard to preparedness for winter season.

Detailed discussions were held on the Action plan for road clearance in snow bound areas, smooth movement of vehicles on National Highway (old & new), identification of additional parking at Patnitop,  Provisions for smooth connectivity during winter etc.

The DC directed the concerned to activate men and machinery to minimize the chances of disruption of traffic and other essential services. “To avoid delay in clearance of snow and blockades the clearance machines should be kept in ready mode so that the public does not face any inconvenience,” she directed.

She took a detailed review of the arrangements made for road clearance during snow fall on National Highway and other internal vital links of the district. The concerned departments were asked  to deploy sufficient snow clearance machinery at the critical points to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement during the winter season. The DC asked the concerned officers to conduct dry run. SDM Chenani and DySP Traffic were directed to conduct joint field visits and identify the parking location at Patnitop.

Reviewing the stock and supply position of ration, the DC called upon the concerned to put in additional efforts to complete the stocking of all essential commodities in snow bound areas.
