RAJOURI, DEC 20 –  As part of ongoing nationwide celebrations on ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence, a 3-day ‘Multi-Media Exhibition’ was inaugurated today by Sh. Vikas Kundal, Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri in presence of Joint Director, CBC, Sh. Ghulam Abbas at Govt. PG College, Rajouri organized by Central Bureau of Communication, Rajouri under the aegis of Central Bureau of Communication, (J&K), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. The exhibition is being organized in coordination with District Administration and College Administration that will conclude on 22nd December 2022.

Vikas Kundal, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri appreciated the efforts of Central Bureau of Communication, J&K for organizing the event at Rajouri and urged the audience to get best of knowledge being disseminated by the exhibition regarding AKAM, Azadi Quest and various centrally sponsored schemes and initiatives of District Administration for which resource persons from various departments are providing necessary information to the visitors.  He emphasized upon youth to use web portals of various departments to avail the maximum of benefits of various schemes and programmes of the government.

Ghulam Abbas, Joint Direct, CBC, J&K and Ladakh in his address said that Governments of India has various schemes and programmes for the welfare of the people who can avail benefits out of it. He expressed gratitude towards district Administration and College Authorities for their cooperation and support. He also urged upon the audience to spread the message of the event among masses to visit the venue as the exhibition has much for the visitors being first of kind in the district.

Shivangi Kant, LCPO, Social Welfare Department, Rajouri provided information regarding various social assistance programmes, child and old age helpline numbers of 1098 and 191. Sh. Chander kant Bhagat, BDO, Rajouri also provided information regarding various schemes like MGNREGA, SBM etc. S

The Exhibition showcases India’s struggle for freedom through display panels. Major events of freedom struggle include, Revolt of 1857, Non- Cooperation Movement, Establishment of Home rule, Champaran Satyagraha, Kheda Satyagraha, Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, Khilafat Movement, Chauri-Chaura Incident, Dandi March or Namak Satyagraha, Azad Hind fauj, Quit India Movement, partition of India. A special facet was also put up to highlight the contribution of freedom fighters belonging to J&K and Ladakh.

Selfie corner, Seminar (Expert Lectures on Centrally Sponsored Schemes), open quiz, film shows, cultural programmes and ‘New India Samachar’ magazine of Govt of India will be the main attraction for the youth. People are requested to visit the exhibition (free entry) which  inculcates the passion of nationalism among them and make them understand the hardships faced by freedom fighters and their sacrifices to achieve the goal of freedom.

An open quiz on AKAM was also organized  to engage the audience, films shows, cultural programmes etc. were the attractions for the youth. Winners of open quiz were honoured on the spot. The programme was conducted by Vijay Mattoo, I/c CBC, Poonch and Sunil Kumar, I/C CBC Rajouri was also present.
