DC Kathua reviews implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, PHE sector schemes

KATHUA, NOV 18 – Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Pandey today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress achieved under the PHE sector including implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.

At the outset, Superintendent Engineer Hydraulic Sanjeev Malhotra apprised the Deputy Commissioner that as many as 48 schemes are being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district. He further disclosed that out of allotted Rs 40 crore so far Rs 32 crore has been expended for creating drinking water assets including Borewells and Tube Wells.

The DC directed all the concerned to expedite the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) with focus   on early completion of all 299 JJM schemes so that the objective of Har Ghar Nal Se Jal could be realized.

While reviewing the physical and financial progress of PHE sectors schemes under CAPEX, Languishing, DDC, BDC, and PRI gants etc, the DC directed the concerned to fix timelines to saturate all components besides stressing on early removal of bottlenecks for timely completion of all works.

The DC also took a detailed review of all ongoing projects under Ground Water, Irrigation, Flood Control and laid thrust on completing all projects within the stipulated time frame.

Superintending Engineer, Hydraulics Sanjeev Malhotra, XEN PHE, Vikram Dogra, Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and Engineers of Irrigation, Flood Control, and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
