BALI, NOV 15 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden met here on Tuesday on the margins of G-20 Leaders’ Summit and reviewed the India-US strategic partnership.
They reviewed the continuing deepening of the strategic partnership including cooperation in future oriented sectors like critical and emerging technologies, advanced computing and artificial intelligence, the PMO said.
They expressed satisfaction about the close cooperation between India and US in new groupings such as the Quad and I2U2.
The two leaders discussed topical global and regional developments.
Modi thanked Biden for his constant support for strengthening the India-US partnership.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that both countries would continue to maintain close coordination during India’s G-20 Presidency.
The annual G20 Leaders’ Summit began on Tuesday with participating world leaders deliberating extensively upon key issues of global concern including challenges posed by Covid19 under the Summit theme of ‘Recover Together, Recover Stronger’.
The summit sees extensive deliberations on ways to overcome important global challenges. It will also focus on ways to further sustainable development across the planet.
Addressing the first session of the G-20 Summit on Food and Energy Security, Modi on Tuesday stressed on returning to the path of ceasefire and diplomacy to resolve the Russia-Ukraine crisis and terming the Covid pandemic and Ukraine conflict a “double whammy” for the poor across the globe.
