The schools he visited included Mahajan Green Light Higher Secondary School at Ishber, Government Girls Higher Secondary at Brane-Nishat & Govt. Boys Higher Secondary at Shalimar.

In a statement issued here, Sheikh Imran said that children are the future of our society and it is our responsibility to ensure that every care is taken for their welfare.

“The children are a gift from heaven and their smiles make our surroundings vibrant and cheerful. On this Children’s Day, we as society must pledge to ensure that child welfare is given top most priority while keeping them safe from being abused or maltreated. Let’s protect these budding flowers that hold key to a bright & prosperous future,” he said.

Imran said it is heartening to see that due to family compulsion young children have to work at a tender age. There needs to be a comprehensive policy where children are given ample opportunities to study while their families get enough support to live with dignity.

“We should focus more on making the holistic lives of children in need better. Their sufferings must be mitigated besides getting them admitted into schools. This is not an easy task but collectively as members of society we can do it in the interest of our future,” he said.

Sheikh Mohammad Imran was also accompanied by Khanyar Darbar Zone-A President Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Youth Zone President Azan Bhat

During his visit to these schools, Imran greeted the children and interacted with them. The school managements lauded his warm gesture and pledged to safeguard the interests of children.
