DC Kathua reviews execution of Jal Jeevan Mission projects

299 schemes proposed to cover 72020 households in the district

KATHUA, SEP 27 – Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey, today reviewed the execution of Jal Jeevan Mission projects in the district here at a meeting of the concerned department.

At the outset, the DC inquired and reviewed the progress of works on all JJM projects in the district, including physical and financial progress. He also took detailed review of tendering, allotment of work and other issues.

The meeting was informed that a total of 299 schemes have been proposed for different parts of the district and the tenders have been floated for all schemes. “On completion, the schemes will feed 72020 Functional Household Tap Water connections (FHTC),”  the meeting was told. It was also informed that work on 19 schemes has been started of which 9 schemes are near completion stage.

The DC directed the concerned to maintain a timeline to start all components besides stressing on early removal of bottlenecks, if any, for timely completion of the projects.

Calling for speedy implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), the DC asked for laying special  focus on ensuring coverage of all the areas to realize the objective of Har Ghar Nal Se Jal.

Superintending Engineer, Hydraulics Sanjeev Malhotra; XEN PHE, Vikram Dogra; Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh and Engineers of Irrigation, Flood Control, RTIC attended the meeting.
