Underwater Sports Championship concluded at Nigeen

SRINAGAR – 3 day Bakeman Underwater Sports Championship 2022 concluded today at Water Sports Center Nigeen. During the 3 days, Underwater Sports Association of J&K organised around 10 events including 50M Bi Fin, 100M Bi Fin, Free Style Swimming, Fun Race etc in which around 308 swimmers took part.

Valedictory function with Malik Waseem (Deputy Director Tourism, Recreation) as the Chief guest was also attended by Azad Ahmad Shah (Managing Director Shah Steel House) and Rashid Makhdoomi (Printer, Publisher and General Manager of GK Communications Pvt Ltd), as Guest of Honour. Mudasir Mushtaq (Tourist Officer), Shaista (Incharge Nigeen Club), Shakeel Ahmad Shah (Bakeman Home Appliances) were also present on the occasion.

Swimming Expert Riyaz Wani gave brief introduction of the Society.

Mahir Tahir finished first in 100m Bi Fin (Senior) while as Syed Shaan Ali Andrabi and Mohsin Fayaz finished 2nd and 3rd.

Speaking on the occasion, Malik Waseem, congratulated all the participants in general and medal winners in particular and appreciated the efforts of Swim N Survival Society – Kashmir for providing training free of cost. He assured that the Department of Tourism will provide every possible support to the Society and will renovate the infrastructure and facilities at Water Sports Cente Nigeen in the upcoming days”.

Yasir Makhdoomi Secretary Swim N Survival Society Kashmir and Underwater Sports Association of J&K present vote of thanks to the Bakeman Home Appliances, Shah Steel House, Department of Tourism and said Long distance swimmer Mohsin Fayaz will attempt 20kms Swimming on 27th August, 2022.

The event of was organized by Underwater Sports Association of J&K facilitated and sponsored by Swim N Survival Society Kashmir, Shah Steel House and Bakeman Home Appliances.
