A.R Bhat and Nazir Ahmad Wani completed a 430 km Mountain biking expedition from Srinagar to Leh in 3 Days

SRINAGAR, AUG 16 –  A. R Bhat and Nazir Ahmad Wani started their journey on August 13 and successfully completed the 3 days Srinagar-Leh Mountain biking expedition by reaching Leh on 15 August. During the trip, the cyclists covered a total distance of 430 kilometers from Srinagar to Leh in 3 days.

On the first day they covered the distance from Srinagar to Drass (141 kilometers) and in the second stage on August 14, they covered a distance of (134 kilometers) from Drass to Bodh Kharbu in the third and final stage, riders covered a distance of 154 kilometers from Bodthkharbu to Leh.

 During the expedition, the duo passed through different high-altitude passes like 12,139 ft Namika Pass and 13478ft Fotu La pass, one of the highest points on the way to Leh -Kargil highway. Meanwhile, both the riders are Senior members of the Jammu & Kashmir Mountain Biking Association and completed different mountain biking expeditions like *Razdaan pass, Sadhna pass, and Sinthan pass.

President JKMBA, Riyaz Wani, and Secretary Asif Bhat  Hailed the efforts of both the riders for completing the 430 km expedition with flying colors.”It was very difficult for us to ride for 430 km at this altitude of 13478 ft but our daily practice was proved to complete all distance I am thankful to Nazir Ahmad for giving company right from Srinagar to Leh and completing with me  Rider,” A.R Bhat said.
