J&K Reports 741 Covid-19 Cases, 1 Death

SRINAGAR –  Jammu and Kashmir reported 741 fresh covid-19 cases, the highest single tally count in nearly six months, even as one person succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday.

They said that 226 cases were reported from Jammu division and 515 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 465904. Among the cases, 171755 are from Jammu division and 294149 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 139 cases, Udhampur 14, Rajouri 16, Doda 24, Kathua 7, Samba 3, Kishtwar 3, Poonch 2, Ramban 25, Reasi 3, Srinagar 239, Baramulla 125, Budgam 42, Pulwama 14, Kupwara 38, Anantnag 14, Bandipora 15, Ganderbal 5, Kulgam 20 and Shopian 3.

One death was reported from Jammu division, taking the overall death toll due to the pathogen to 4773.

Among those who succumbed to the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic, 2344 were from Jammu division and 2429 from The Valley.

Besides, they said, 445 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—184 from Jammu division and 261 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 4846 active cases— 1663 in Jammu and 3183 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 10881 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K. (GNS)
