While speaking on the occasion, the DC said that it was a long pending demand of border people which was taken into consideration and fulfilled by the Administration. He said the creation of public infrastructure and providing facilities to the people at their door steps was the first priority of the district administration.

The Deputy Commissioner also took a round of the newly constructed building and expressed satisfaction over the quality of work.

He also asked the executing agency to construct the boundary wall around the premises at the earliest.

The Deputy Commissioner also handed over the land passbooks to the land owners on the occasion and termed the initiative of the government as a historical step towards transparency and Good Governance. He complimented the Revenue Department and concerned the IT agency for making this facility a possibility in a very short time.

The DC noted that the Land Passbook contains all Revenue related information in a very simple form, besides it will act as a valid land document required for different purposes.

“The initiative is a great landmark in the process of bringing further improvement in the services delivery, enhancing transparency and accountability in the revenue record system” he added. He said Under the Digital India Land Record Modernization Programme (DILRMP), the Revenue Department has scanned voluminous revenue records and placed them in the public domain under the ‘Apni Zameen Apni Nigrani’ for people’s scrutiny.

Highlighting the benefits of the Land Pass Book, the DC said the Land Pass Book prescribed by the Revenue Department is true to the Revenue record and can be generated online with a click of button.

Regarding crop loss compensation, which is one of the crucial issues of people residing in border areas, the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration is committed to release the compensation on time, so that farmers don’t face any kind of problem.

Responding to the demand for a playground by the locals, the Deputy Commissioner said that the government has planned to create adequate sports facilities down to Panchayat level to channelize the energy of youths in the positive direction.

He also asked the DDC, BDC and PRI members to come forward to establish sports facilities in their respective jurisdictions as they have been provided with funds by the government. He said that PRI members can also take initiatives to provide health care, education and sports facilities to the people in their respective areas.
