Dr Sehrish reviews the functioning of colleges under RUSA Scheme

SRINAGAR – Mission Director, Rashtriya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of colleges under different components of RUSA Scheme.

Principal SP College Srinagar, Principal Govt college of engineering & Technology (GCET) Safapora, Executive Engineer PWD ,Deputy General Manager  JKPCC unit Safapora, and other officials of the RUSA  Were present during the meeting.

Threadbare discussions were held on several projects under the RUSA Scheme.

Assessing the progress of projects, Dr Sehrish noted that the pace of work was slow in some of the institutions. She called upon the heads of institutions and executing agencies to be proactive in completion of time bound projects and further expedite expenditure and submission of the audit and utilization reports to the Ministry.

The Mission director also called for proper management and maintenance of the infrastructures from encumbrances.

The meeting also reviewed the physical and financial status of civil works under the different components of the scheme and the concerned officials informed that execution of works has been restored at almost all the places of various colleges.

Dr Sehrish stressed upon the officials that the pending works under RUSA phase 1 should be completed on priority basis and in addition prepare a detailed plan for execution of the works under phaseII.

She called upon the heads of institutions and executive agencies to be proactive in completion of time bound projects and to further expedite for early submission of the utilization certificates.

RUSA, a centrally sponsored scheme implemented on the ratio of 90:10 in JK, aims to provide critical infrastructure and quality improvement of universities and colleges.
