SRINAGAR – The district Administration Srinagar on  Monday ordered the strict Corona Curfew in Srinagar parts for a period of ten days from today after it observed a steep rise in Covid positive cases in District Srinagar in the last 17 days.

In an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and chairman District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Mohammad Aijaz,  which read that strict containment measures are required in order to ensure safety of the General Public and to prevent transmission of Covid-19 to other parts of District Srinagar.
According to the order, among the areas which will be under the Corona curfew are Bota Kadal, Umer Colony, Baghwanpora, Molvi Stop and Mill Stop of Lal Bazar area under the Administrative ward no 11.
“Under the administrative ward 32, localities of Shah Anwar Colony, Green Avenue colony and Noorani colony (Peer Bagh) of Hyderpora will be under Corona curfew”, read the order.
“Under the administrative ward 31, Hamdania Colony, Tawheed Aabad Colony and Mathan of Chanapora will be under Corona Curfew”, states the order.
“Hamdania Colony of Bemina area falling under the administrative ward number 27 will be under Corona Curfew”, reads the order.
The order further reads that Housing Colony, Bilal Colony and SDA Colony of Bemina areas under administrative ward number 24 will be under Corona Curfew.
While the Srinagar administration under the permissible activities have allowed all essential services including all incidental services and activities needed for smooth functioning of these activities shall be allowed to continue, both in the public and private sector. Standalone grocery/ vegetable/ meat/ milk shops may also remain open and functional to ensure provisioning of essential supplies from 7:00Am to 11:00AM only.
The officials said that there will be no hindrance to the smooth movement of goods and essential supplies.
There shall be no restriction on the movement of Government Officials for attending officer duties, on production of I-Cards/ Official Orders.
The vaccination drive shall not be halted. Localized mobile teams shall be constituted to provide vaccination in colonies, residential areas and containment zones.
However under the non-permissible activities Srinagar administration has ordered a 24 hour complete ’Corona’ curfew with no movement other than permissible activities.
The administration has also ordered the closure of educational institutes in the areas falling under the Corona Curfew.
The Srinagar administration has also barred both indoor and outdoor social gatherings and functions and has fixed a ceiling of only 20 persons for the marriage parties, while as for the funerals the limit has been fixed to ten persons only.
