SRINAGAR – Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Wednesday toured to South Kashmir along with IGP CRPF and other senior police officers.
In a statement, the police said that the IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar IPS along with IG CRPF Deepak Ratan IPS , DIGP South Kashmir Range , DIG CRPF , SSP Kulgam and CO CRPF visited north & south portal of new tunnel and control room today afternoon and held a details meeting, conducted physical security review on the ground.
IGP Kashmir instructed field officers of Poiceand CRPF to prepare & implement a comprehensive a joint security-grid of old JT and new Navyug tunnel. Control room official presented demonstration before IGP and other officers regarding functioning of CCTV camera and other gadgets, they said.
IGP Kashmir advised field officials of Navyug tunnel and NHA to conduct a mock drill of rescue action along with police and CRPF at the earliest. Some additional deployments of CRPF were also decided, reads the statement.
