BONIYAR- As part of the run up to the 75th Indep Day Indian Army undertook an Initiative to organise a Trek to the interiors of Pir Panjal along with Civil Administration of Sub Division Uri and local youth.

The adventure trek fueled by the Spirit of 75th Independence Day a intended to imbue the Awaam into the shades of Tricolour also it aimed at reaching out to the Awaam of the far flung areas, showcase the genuine concern for them and endeavour to shoulder their challenges by taking inputs from the grassroot levels.

The  Jawan and Awaam Trekking team  comprising of Army personal,  Civil Administrative Officers from Sub Division Uri, Block Boniyar along with BDC Chairman, Sarpanchs and youth volunteers was flagged off in the morning at Boniyar.

The challenging 12 KM Trekking route which commenced from the village Bernate of Boniyar tested the nerves of the team however a deep desire to meet the Awaam of the remote areas and address their grievances propelled them to the destination.

Enroute the Army Medical team  organised a medicine distribution camp for the locals residing in the Dhoks in vicinity to the Ziarat Sharif, the Army and Civil Officers interacted with locals to note their Grievances.

The first of it’s Kind adventure event infused positivity into the Awaam of the remote areas who expressed their gratitude for such initiative.
