DC Jammu listens to public grievances at Panj Grain

JAMMU – To get first-hand account of the public grievances, Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg today attended a public outreach programme at Panj Grain under Weekly Block Diwas in which delegations from different Panchayats, besides scores of individuals apprised him about the problems faced being by them in day to day life.

The PRI members highlighted the issues regarding their respective Panchayats, which were mainly related to irregular supply of water and electricity, Revenue, compensation, ration card, IAY, Road connectivity, drinking water availability, instalation of hand pumps, health centres etc.

The Deputy Commissioner gave patient hearing to the PRI members, delegations and individuals and passed on the spot directions to the concerned officers for early redressal of their genuine grievances. He assured that the highlighted issues of public importance will be taken up with higher authorities besides all the pendency and public service delivery slackness shall be reviewed thoroughly.

The Deputy Commissioner also impressed upon the officers to work with zeal to achieve the targets and delivery of the benefits to the rural masses. He said that the motive of this public outreach program was to reach out to the people and understand their problems.

He also distributed OBC certificates and Domicile certificates among the beneficiaries who got benefitted from the weekly camp. He said that UT administration is committed to strengthen the grassroots level democracy by strengthening the Panchayat system.

ACR Vijay Kumar, PRI members along with other officers of the line department and a large number of people were present at the program.
