‘DHSK vaccinates over 14000 teaching, non-teaching staff members’

SRANAGAR –  Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) has so far vaccination more than 14000 teaching and non-teaching staff in educational institutions across Kashmir.

A spokesperson of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, said DHSK started a special vaccination drive for colleges, universities, and educational institutions which is continuing in all districts.

The spokesman said so far 14327 teaching and non-teaching staff members have been vaccinated in the special vaccination drives held in these educational institutions.

As per figures 934 have been vaccinated in Anantnag, 395 in Baramulla, 157 in Bandipora, 3425 in Budgam, 314 in Ganderbal, 596 in Kulgam, 2872 in Kupwara, 173 in Pulwama, 396 Shopian and 5156 in Srinagar.

Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather said that they will continue these special vaccination drives in all the districts across Kashmir.

“We are in constant touch with the education department to see if there are any left out teaching and non-teaching staff who can be vaccinated during these special vaccination drives,” the director said.

The vaccination drive is the continuation of the vaccination campaign of DHSK to vaccinate teaching, non-teaching staff and the eligible students in view of the possible third Covid wave.

From 01 July to date, thousands of teaching, non-teaching staff members and eligible students have been vaccinated in this special vaccination drive.

The director stressed the importance of the vaccination and said that it is an important tool for us besides Special Operation Procedures to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It is aimed at getting as many as staff members and students vaccinated before the government decides the opening of educational institutions in the valley,” he said.

The director said that DHSK would hold more vaccination drives in the future so that all students and staff get vaccinated.
