DC Udhampur listens to issues, demands of PRIs

Approves 14th FC plan for Block Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, JULY 24: To redress the grievances and issues of Panchayat representatives, District Development Commissioner Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib today convened a meeting with Sarpanches of various Panchayats of block Udhampur  and District  Officers of various departments, here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.

BDC Chairman, Balwan Singh and  Sarpanches   attended  the meeting  and  projected score of public issues and problems being faced by the gram Panchayats in day to day functioning.

The demanded sanctioning of plan of 14th FC, clearance of Liabilities of MGNREGA, Construction of culvert at Dandyal, Sanctioning of PMAY houses on priority basis for homeless, Traffic jamming at various locations of Udhampur block, rationalization of tendering process adopted by the authorities at Panchayat level etc. They demanded that the tendering be expedited in Panchayats which would furnish the completion certificate. They also stressed on punctuality of staff of various departments having their offices in Panchayats to provide hassle free delivery of services, The desilting of  drains in rural areas twice in a year  and other major  issues related to  PHE, PWD, PDD and PMGSY were also projected.

The DDC gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands of PRIs and passed on-spot directions for redress of the same at an earliest. She asked the officers to take first hand appraisal of all the grievances of PRIs and redress the same on priority.

During the meeting, 14th FC plan for the current financial year 2021-22 was also approved by the Deputy Commissioner, while BDOs were directed to organise meetings with PRIs on monthly basis and ACP was asked to prepare the roster.

The DDC redressed many grievances on the spot by passing directions to the concerned officers. She called upon PRIs to extend helping hand to officers for speedy execution of development works.

Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue,Viqar Giri, Assistant Commissioner Development, Mushtaq Chowdhary,Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Navdeep Wazir, Block Development Officer, Rupali Mahajan and other officers of RDD department besides Sarpanches were present in the meeting.
