Div Com meets scores of public delegations in Kud, Patnitop & Sanasar

Assures to redress genuine grievances, resolve long pending bottlenecks

JAMMU  – Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer, who is on a two day visit to Patnitop tourism circuit today met scores of public delegations in Kud, Patnitop and Sanasar and listened to their grievances.

He was accompanied by Chief Executive Officer, Patnitop Development Authority, Sher Singh; and other concerned officers.

The Div Com met different stakeholders, including hoteliers, PRI members, locals and representatives of traders associations and listened to their issues.

The delegations put forth their demands seeking improved road connectivity, upgrading of Jal Shakti and power infrastructure, development of parking spaces, better provision of snow clearance during snowfall/ road closures and projected many other issues of public concern.

During the meeting, the representatives of Hoteliers Association put forth several demands and projected the problems being faced by them like scarcity of drinking water, dilapidated condition of Patnitop -Sanasar road, problem of traffic jam, up-grading of Gouri Kund road, Parking of tankers on Batote side to reduce the traffic jam, Up-gradation of the tourism infrastructure to tap the full tourism potential of the area, proper disposal of waste material, establishment  of  Fire station, Installation of ATM and signboards for the convenience of tourists.

Responding to the demands, the Div Com asked the CEO Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) to expedite completion of the Solid Waste management plant for proper disposal of solid waste and preservation of green gold.  He also asked the concerned for installation of signboards and holding of cultural events for promotion of tourism.

“All tourist destinations should be showcased in information brochures for wide publicity to attract a maximum tourist footfall” he said and asked PDA to frame a plan for hosting the summer festival.

 He also directed the concerned officers to take note of all the demands and take appropriate action to resolve public issues on priority.  Regarding certain specific issues, the Div Com said that steps will be taken to remove bottlenecks, if any.

Meanwhile, the Div Com also visited the Skyview Patnitop cable car where the project Head gave a detailed overview regarding the Ropeway, adventure, food courts and luxury stay components of the project.
