Positivity rate witnesses drastic decrease to 3.47% at Gbl: DC

GANDERBAL – The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today briefed the media on the current Covid scenario and mitigation efforts put in place in the district.

Giving details, the DC said that the active cases have drastically decreased in the district this month. She said last week the active cases in the district were almost 507 which are now 249.

Regarding the tests done in last week, she said RAT positivity was 3.95 percent which has decreased to 1.97 percent and overall positivity in the district was 6.39 percent which has come down to 3.47 percent.

Elaborating on the RAT testing facility in the district, she said that RAT testing facility is now available in all 126 Covid Care Centres and about 1700 tests have been done at these centers till date. She urged people to get tested at these centers if they feel Covid related symptoms.

While giving details on Vaccination for 18-44 years for priority groups, the DC said that over 7000 persons are vaccinated till date and appealed Shopkeepers, transporters, Journalist, lawyers and Amarnath Yatra service providers to visit vaccination centers and get first dose of vaccination which is prerequisite for saving themselves from Covid pandemic.

Regarding easing of Corona restrictions in the district, Jyotsna said that though restrictions are eased but easing of Covid restrictions does not mean that pandemic is over and appealed people to follow the COVID appropriate behavior strictly as they followed earlier to avoid the resurgence of pandemic.
