Compatibility lost

With the quickly passing time, we, as humans have lost the idea of togetherness to be an important element in our lives. Social values have a hard time flourishing in society nowadays. The social fabric is wearing out now. Relations are difficult to preserve and progress in social ties is ceasing. A man was created as a social being and was inculcated with social instincts. However, now the social values are paralyzing. A major institution of marriage in our societies is losing its charm. There are reasons that have been working as factors to damage this institution like the interference of materialistic things in it. In Kashmir, we rely on the age-old formality of dowry. Though the dowry system has ended, but not completely as it is prevalent in certain situations and certain places. We, probably have not reached the root cause of it. The evil called dowry has set the institution of marriage on fire. While marriage was among the beautiful bonds that ever existed on earth, it has become a bugging issue of our society. The costly we make the marriages here is another cause of degrading this pious relation. The newly introduced traditions are adding to the woes of those who cannot afford to marry their children according to the worldly criteria fixed by no other than the man himself. We are busy pleasing people instead of pleasing our Lord. This way, we are creating hurdles in the way of marriages to grow. The compatibility between souls is another reason for the fray in marriages. People nowadays choose pleasure over compatibility which makes the marriage go threadbare. We are on the verge of wrecking the institution of marriage. All it needs is the HUMAN intervention.
