CCCs being established at Panchayat level to contain the virus: DC Pulwama

Appeals people to follow Covid-19 SOPs to prevent spread of virus

PULWAMA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer ul Haq Chowdary today briefed about the achievements and preparations made by the district administration to combat the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the district.

While giving a brief regarding the Covid-19 mitigation measures, the DC said presently there are 2700 active cases to whom Covid kits are being distributed adding 1200 kits have been distributed so far while rest of the kits would be disturbed in the next two or three days.

He said the district Administration has geared up to establish 5 bedded Covid Care Centres (CCCs) at all 190 panchayat Halqas with all basic equipment (including Oxygen concentrators, Oximeters, Masks, Beds etc) which will further augment the bed capacity in district.

Choudhry further said that at block and district headquarter level, 1200 bed capacity is already in place at multiple locations and with fresh augmentation of 950 beds at Panchayat level it will go to 2000 beds in the district.

Regarding recovery rate, the DC said that in the previous 15 days the recovery rate has increased by 15 percent and is presently near 85 -90 percent whereas death rate has declined to 1.65 percent. Meanwhile, the positivity rate has also declined to 10 percent and testing capacity has been increased to 100 percent besides vaccination drive has also been intensified, he added.

The DC thanked all stakeholders including DDCs, BDCs, PRIs, Auqaf members and youth for supporting administration to mitigate the prevailing situation and sought further cooperation for containing the spread of the deadly virus.

He urged them to stick to the precautionary measures besides strictly following the SOPs and guidelines issued by the administration adding that collective efforts will help to overcome the situation.
