An odd price out!

Amid the Covid crisis in the country, the labels on almost every product are being changed with an ugly hike. It has become a matter of months or even weeks to decide on an increase in any product they like. Be it edible oil, pulses, flour, spices, or milk; the provisions have become an unaffordable deal for a layman. The price of products has soared high, over the odds. A common man has to think twice over the purchase and the poor have to shun the thought. The numbers have become just numbers now. To hike the price and change the printed value is merely counting in ascending order. Where should the common man head to? And what should he ask for – justice with the price? Or justice with their survival? The livelihood has been ceased for more than a year, the unemployment rate has remained the same, poverty is stagnant in the country, and people are hardly left with any source of income. But the price continues to elevate. And this time, it is petrol and diesel. Once more, the price has been increased. The surge in the Covid cases and mounting deaths haven’t broken their spirit yet. They have let people suffer their part and let themselves do their own. Helpless people take no time to be surmounted by something they don’t deserve to be charged with. Keeping poverty at bay, the authority is busy adding to the miseries of people by choosing any of the ways they like. People have become dumb, as they are not able to question, and deaf as they are not able to hear their conscience. Even if they do, is there an ear awaiting to listen to them?
