Covid has brought a number of challenges with it. These challenges have made it difficult for the authority to reach out to people with help. All the public schemes are commanded by the government to be released on an emergency basis. Lieutenant Governor has announced a ‘special pension for life’ for those who have lost the bread earners in their families. And the registered construction workers, pony wallas, and palki wallas will get thousand rupees per month. Meanwhile, it has been promised to the students who have lost their parents in the Covid crisis that they will be offered a ‘special scholarship’ by the government to carry their studies smoothly ahead. The Governor has further promised to distribute free ration to the poor and needy. All these sworn schemes are in store. While a thousand rupees won’t make them feed their families for the whole of the month, the promised amount should be increased. It is nearly impossible to make both ends meet with the help of certain bucks. The ongoing pandemic crisis has snatched the source of livelihood from a plethora of people. To pay a required sum of relief to every unemployed person in the valley seems unattainable on the part of the government, other ways may be implemented to reach out to people if it is a requisite. This is the right time to make use of funds appropriately. People don’t face selected problems nowadays, but the problems are arising from nowhere and in a large number. The needy and poor have become beggarlier and the working class is facing the worst. The irony is; they are not even able to seek help from anyone. This has led the valley to depression. Emergency help is sought to assist them.
