Coronavirus claims life of one more BJP MLA in UP

Lucknow: Ruling BJP MLA from Nawabganj seat in Bareilly, Kesar Singh Gangwar died due to COVID-19 in Noida on Wednesday.

Mr Gangwar is the third BJP MLA who had succumbed to the second wave of the deadly virus within a week.

The Nawabganj MLA was admitted to a private hospital in Noida a week ago but succumbed on Wednesday morning.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state BJP president Swantra Deo Singh along with other BJP leaders have expressed their grief on the demise of Mr Gangwar.
Earlier on April 23, BJP MLA from Aurriya sadar seat Ramesh Diwakar died at Meerut Medical college hospital while Lucknow (West) BJP MLA Suresh Kumar Srivastava succumbed at SGPGI in Lucknow.

Tragedy struck both the families of the BJP MLA, when Diwakar’s father died of a heart attack after hearing the news of his son’s death. Similarly Suresh Suresh Kumar Srivastava’s wife too succumbed to Covid within 48 hours of her husband death.

During the first wave of Corona last year, two UP ministers and BJP MLAs Chetan Chauhan and Ms Kamla Rani Varun died due to the virus.
Meanwhile, sitting judge of the Allahabad High Court Virendra Srivastava died due to Covid-19 at SGPGI in Lucknow on Wednesday.

Justice Virendra Srivatava was admitted to the SGPGI with several complications a week back. He breathed his last on Wednesday morning.
