Dilemma over ‘Remedesivir’ in Maharashtra

Mumbai, Apr 17 (UNI) NCP national spokesperson and Minister for Minorities Nawab Malik on Saturday said that the 16 exporters in India are not allowed to sell 20 lakh capsules of Remdesivir as the central government has banned the export of Remdesivir.
In his tweet message Mr Malik stated that ,the central government has said that Remedesivir should be sold only through the seven companies that manufacture it.
However, as these seven companies are refusing to take responsibility, now there is a dilemma before the central government to take a decision, said Malik.
It takes time to make an immediate decision when there is a need for and availability of the drug Remedesivir.
Mr Malik also demanded that the issue be resolved and that all government hospitals in the state be provided with Ramdesivir capsules immediately.
Meanwhile, the state government has asked 16 export companies about remedesivir, but the central government has banned the supply of remedesivir in Maharashtra. We are threatened with revocation of the license if we provide this remedy it was regrettable and shocking, he said.
The shocking news comes at a time when corona disease is on the rise. Therefore, Malik has warned that in this situation, the Maharashtra government will have no choice but to seize the stock of Remadesivir from these 16 exporters and supply it to the needy, he tweeted.
