Health Deptt holds cataract surgery camp at CHC Thathri

Doda: In its endeavour to make District Doda, “Cataract Free Zone”, the Department of Health and Family Welfare Doda under National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment (NPCB& VI) organized two days free cataract surgery camp at CHC Thathri in District Doda.
The camp was held under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr Mohammad Yaqoob Mir.
During the camp, a total of 09 patients suffering from cataract have been operated successfully  by the team of experts including Dr Saleem Ahmed (Nodal Officer NPCB & VI) who provided their precious services to the cataract patients with the assistance of Sr Opthalmic Tech Mohd Iqbal, Jr Opthalmic Techcician Raju Kumar, OT Tech Haroon Ahmed, OT Tech Sajan Kunar and others.
All the patients who undergone surgery were provided medicines and spectacles were also provided to them free of cost for proper post operative care.
CMO Doda Dr Mohammad Yaqoob Mir after visiting the operation site, informed the media that the Health Deptt is dedicated to continue such camps in the coming future to help poor patients in the restoration of their visions besides he expressed his gratitude to Nodal Officer Dr Saleem Ahmed and other assisting staff besides BMO Thathri for providing all kind of possible support in making the camp successful.
Pertinent to mention here that the Health Deptt Doda under National Programme for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment is continuously organizing series of eye screening camps across District Doda with the aim to detect those suffering from eye ailments like cataract etc so that the leading cause of blindness can be prevented or cured well in time.
