Roads Craving For Renovation

The situation of the roads in Srinagar are turning bad to worse with each passing day while the authorities concerned have been acting as mute spectators with taking no action in this regard. It is only people who are suffering on the ground, their vehicles that are getting damaged due to the potholed conditions of the roads here. One fails to understand that silence maintained by the concerned department so far. Such a situation on the ground never changed, especially in the months of March and April. The million dollar question remains how long the people here are supposed to face the hardships due to the official apathy? There is no end when it comes to the sufferings of the commuters on the ground. It won’t be an exaggeration to speak that the concerned department has utterly failed to verify whether the substandard material is being used during the macadamization or not. One can question the department about its inquiry over the allegations of the use of substandard material as the allegations never got any reply from the concerned department rather the department went for the macadamization process every year, which failed to sustain for a longer period and thus simultaneously became an unending issue for the people. Therefore, the administration should consider constituting the committees who should be tasked to ensure no use of substandard material during the macadamization process and those found involved by the committees should be taken to the task.
