DO WE LIVE OUR LIVES?

Life is one of the best gifts from the Creator. Everyone in the world is unique. No two persons are same. Individual differences are everywhere. But this uniqueness is forgotten by almost everyone. Every person lives another person’s life. No one lives his or her life according to his or her potential. Those who are not entitled to carry it carry unnecessary load. Stress is felt because we misplace ourselves. In place of care, pain is given and in place of pain, care is given. In other sense, where there should be the Sun, we want night and vice versa. In the long run, the sweetness of life is lost and there remains bitter taste in the mouth.

Now, the point of concern is when we are going to live our lives. As this is not an easy job, it needs some basic principles to be followed. Let us try to know some principles in precise terms.

First is that we should know the worth of life. When the objective of life is known, there are chances that we may live our lives for a moment or so. In this way, we may live our lives.

Second is that one should know one’s worth. Until and unless, the worth is not known, there hardly are chances that there is any taste in life. Worthy people live a distinct and decent life.

Third is that life should be above materialism. The basic necessities should be fulfilled. Demanding more and more can prove disastrous. Contentment is necessary. Socrates said that contentment is the best wealth. So, contentment should be our concern.

Fourth is that we should never waste our life in futile pursuits. Futile pursuits mean a nonsense talk. It may be backbiting, slander mongering, useless sloganeering, etc. It is better to sleep with a good intention than to indulge in futile pursuits.

Fifth is that we should not imitate any one blindly. Being blind in an age of enlightenment, is a crime. We should ponder over things. Reflection should be our attitude. Any thing good in other societies can be welcomed but blindness in this endeavor can be harmful.

Sixth is that we should have curiosity to know about everything. Nature speaks. We have to listen. Seasons come and go. We should reflect over this. A child becomes old. It should be known. There a lot of phenomena that can make or mar our life. It is up to us to know them. As said earlier, nature speaks to everyone and it is our duty to know its language.

Seventh and last is that we must know our Creator. Why He created us? When we know the answer, then there are cent percent chances that we will live our lives.

So, let us pledge that we should live our lives. God has made everyone unique. Diversity should be encouraged ; rather than discouraged.
